That's supposed to be lightweight? The celica weighed 2425 lbs . . . and it wasn't designed to be a track toy. I doubt the FT will weigh more but be praised as "lightweight"...

The SW20 was 2657 lbs with less safety restrictions..and two less seats. It seems that sports cars are always heavier.

@Matador
While true, wouldn't you say a less superior suspension setup carrying less weight could be equivalent, or potentially better, than a better suspension carrying more weight? Within reason, obviously. I realize a car with a live axle isn't going to come close no matter what..

The FT-86 concepts weighs 2204 lbs. G Sports is probably a little lighter. I don't know how much weight safety equipment, heavier seats, and electronical nannies will add to the production weight.

Rubbish. AFAIK, the weight was never put on the show car info. I stand to be corrected.

all of the photos of the display board list weight as " -- ".

If you have a photo that says the weight, post it. Otherwise you're in the corner by yourself.

someone probably read this.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...03&postcount=2

and are coming to the conclusion of the targeted weight of 1200kg

not sure where that GS concept is coming in under 1000kg.

Its too unlikely that if the concept is NA and weighing 2600+ that the GS even with materials removed +turbo is gona be 400 lbs less than the concept.

And if I'm wrong, I want the engineers to wear wizards hats because they are f'in magicians.
