So what turned out to be the better game? OUTER WORLDS or BORDERLANDS 3? I'm thinking of grabbing one to work through on my winter break. First time I've ever been a student. I have more time off than I've ever had in 36 years, but at the same time I feel like my time is no longer my own.

I was hugely disappointed with The Outer Worlds. It is not a full price game, full stop. At 20-30 hours long, it’s a far cry from the game it’s being compared against, Fallout New Vegas. It’s story is so-so, dialogue has the options of yes, ok, sarcastic yes, yes but leave conversation and kill the person you’re speaking to, combat is boring, weapon and armour options are bland.

I was hoping it would hold me over until Cyberpunk is released, but it’s looking like I’ll be back to the Witcher 3, Escape from Tarkov and whatever else my friend group is playing at the time.

I'd wait and get RDR2
Can get Outer Worlds with the Xbox game pass so you don't pay full price and just beat it then cancel.

As far as BL3 it doesn't exist on PC until next year for me.

I just wanted to mention, I tried out playstation now on my PC and I have to say it was pretty cool. Thought I would give it a try since its only $10 a month and there is a bunch of games I wanted to play that do not have PC ports. I do have a very good internet connection, but I was totally impressed with how well it ran. Bunch of games on there, I suggest anyone curious check it out.

(Playstaiton Now is a subscription service like a netflix for games)

Somewhat starting to consider Google Stadia, but it's price point has turned me off entirely.

Yeah that is what got me looking into ps now. When I broke it down ps now is $10 a month and you get all the games in their library, plus if you have a ps4 you can download the games to play locally. Vs stadia which does not have as big a library and asks you to then buy the games at full price. Stadia does have some new games but so does PS now. From what I could tell and looking at the libraries PS now seemed a good fit for me and so far I've been totally happy with it. Worth checking out, pretty low investment for just $10 a month.

I'm about 4 hours into BL3 and it's not as fun as I was expecting. Not a whole lot of side missions to do. It seems like on BL2 you did a ton of them and it really mixed up and added to the game. BL3 feels linear.

Thanks. That linear gameplay is a killer for me. HORIZON ZERO DAWN was the best game I've played in years, with a great sci-fi narrative after the first few hours of gameplay. Before that I just played various FAR CRY and ELDER SCROLLS games over and over. Seems like the great single-player games are fewer and farther between every year. I liked the original BORDERLANDS and 2 was alright but I don't think I even finished the PRE-SEQUEL.

The fact that I also have a PS4 does make that a more tempting proposition. I'll need to look into it a bit more, but $120 a year is the cost of a game a half basically. I think I buy maybe 2 or 3 games a year, so it's not a bad deal in the grand scheme of things.

In fact I think my fiancee has bought more games than I have this year since she got a Switch.

I think you might have been looking at the old pricing, In Canada it is $80 a year. That's when I started looking into it, when they drastically dropped the price.
However it has a few downsides, not all games support 1080p streaming, and it doesn't get new games at launch. At least not yet as far as I know.
