Has anyone done any testing between the 245 and 255 rivals? Looks like most are using 245's. I'm about to get new tires and pretty tempted to try the 255's. Seems like the rivals only get better as they get wider. I've even seen people using 245's on 15" street class wheels.

I think the change in wheel diameter is the biggest difference. I use the 255's on my 2017 car because of the shorter gearing. Grip wise, I never really noticed going from 245's to 255's.

The consensus seems to be 245's for 2013-2016 models and 255's for 2017+ due to the gearing differences. But in the end it comes down to personal preference.

I have tested both. What you basically have is two different diameter tires. They are both the same width, 250mm. You choose is if you prefer a softer or stiffer sidewall, due to the length because of the diameter incrrease. I prefer the 245 because of the stiffnes. There is a measurable difference in times between the two and for me the 245 is faster.

My car needs a battery. It’s a daily driver but I’d like to go with a lightweight lithium battery if I’m replacing it.

What are you guys using for lightweight batteries?

Still the Shorai.

I'm interested in the Antigravity batteries if/when I need to replace this, since they're rated for car use (I believe) and the Shorai is not.

The braile battery sold in the kit from ft86speedfactory works great for day to day driving. It's pricey but it's a good battery.

Shorai here too. Just get the right charger for it, maintain it properly, and you won't have any issues. This battery tech has been around a long time now, from the RC world. The days of (RC) batteries catching on fire, like shown in Neal's article, are all but gone.

My Shorai has been going strong for nearly 3 years. It's been discharged, jump started, brought back from the dead with the charger, etc. I use the LFX24L3-BS12:

Hard part nowadays is finding a battery mount for it.
