Factory rear diffuser question.

Love it or hate it, I want one. I have not contacted a local dealership yet, or even picked one yet for my service. (Bought my car 300+miles away)Question is if you have one, did it come already installed or did you order from dealership and if so did they do the install? Installing myself is not an option as I will end up F-ing something up.

If the car comes from Subaru without the diffuser - it will be Port Installed after it's pulled off the carrier ship. (Depends on the Factory Order or build specs.)

If you pick up your car at the Dealer without the diffuser - the Dealer can install it at a later date. (Per your timeframe and schedule.)

I ordered my car with the diffuser. So it was Port Installed before it was delivered to my store.

I ordered mine when I first optioned the car and put a deposit down
It was port installed and on the car when it was delivered to the dealership
I was surprised how much it cost ~$800!!!, but it was already done
I chose to get this instead of the spoiler and it was a good choice
I just recently got an exhaust system and the diffuser "presents" it very nicely

I was also interested in the diffuser and I didn't get it from the dealer... Thought why not buy a fake one later for cheaper (no $$ right now)

Sorry for slight derail, but please post pics of aftermarket exhaust w/ diffuser

brand of exhaust? any other info?

Thanks.

Before i bought my car, i negotiated my diffuser to come free for my trade in car. Dealer installed for free because it was negotiated in written letter. $725 added to my trade in.

I feel like the car doesn't look complete without the "diffuser". I put it in quotations because it doesn't diffuse anything but cash from your wallet, but it looks perfect on the car. If I'm not mistaken, installation is a simple bolt-on affair.

i really like the diffuser, but for $600 i really can't justify the cost for a piece of plastic.

The whole car is a piece of plastic, whats one more piece.
I feel the same way about rim and exhaust replacement on a brand new car, but that is what makes your car different from everyone else, and that I like.

Why, oh why, does Subaru have to charge so much for this seemingly simple-to-produce piece of plastic? I want one so bad, but I can think of a million other things to spend $700 on.

I will probably pick one up after I install a new exhaust. With the stock US market exhaust it has A LOT of room under the tips and looks out of place. With a nice exhaust set up or even the EDM/JDM Tips, it looks nice. I cannot be more than a few bolts/screws that secure it on. I would think it would be a pretty easy install.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21051 That's what I plan on getting instead of the factory diffuser. Same price as the factory one, but it's carbon fiber instead of plastic.
