Hoping someone does it with just a stock exhaust so I can hear the difference. Some say on the 1st Gen, UEL headers with stock exhaust was absolutely terrible, curious to see if that is true on a 2nd Gen as well.

Not sure if it's best to ask here or not but I need some clarity, I've seen some people refer to the uel headers as catless. Is there a cat on the stock headers??! I though the cat was mainly in general on the front/down pipes of any car.

Still trying to learn something new every day haha.

There are 2 cats on this car. One is stock headers and the other in the mid pipe. The performance gains and sound/ exhaust note change are due to tube length and due to removal of restriction (first cat).

Does anyone know if there is an exhaust that adds HP but does not modify the sound?

Ah, thank you! I wonder how it would be to deal with emissions in California with a catless header but keeping the second one or replacing with a high flow one. I've got time to research that at least. Thanks again !

You cannot remove or modify either cat in CA and be legal. Even high flows will not pass smog

I wonder if any supercharger systems that keep a completely stock exhaust would pass?

Yes. Edelbrock on the ZC6/ZN6 for example.
