Not against modifying a car, but pretty odd starting just a few days (or even hours?) after you got it. Modding for the sake of modding ...

That's frustrating. I figured I'd at least get a VIN by now. That markup isn't as bad as I've heard though and it seems to be just for folks off the street. There was a pretty big markup on my 2013 when I bought it but they still sold it for MSRP in the end.

As someone else stated. He had an autox event this weekend and needed to fall in a particular class or something.

I'm keeping mine stock. But it isn't strange that someone bought a car that is literally built to be modified and then modified it so that he can race it. The head of Subaru would be proud of him. That is why he made this car.

If you are not familiar with autocross, there are classing rules that you must abide by, or risk disqualification or being placed into another class.

For the competitive - they pay attention to this and take every advantage they can. So, its far from modding for the sake of modding, its making specific changes to stay competitive. Milliseconds matter.

Depends on your goals.

For example, eliminating the fender gap. I anticipate a lot of people who already have coilovers and wheels/tires on their 1st gen cars to transfer those on the 2nd gen cars shortly after getting those.

So is the fender gap still there? I was reading people here saying that new car's suspension is lower, because cog was lower too ...

I don’t think so. I saw two new ones yesterday and they both looked like monster trucks lol.

Car is not lowered when compared to gen1, ground clearance increased. Also, total height decreased and CG lowered a little bit
