Is there full clearance stock height? and also full clearance with 1in lowering springs?

also 265/40 is HUGE. go to a 265/35
any chance you can post of pics of how much you guys dremel off the rear? just want to get a general idea. thanks!

Here's a question for those of you who have the experience...

I'm looking at getting yoshihara design dy-12c in gunmetal, 18x8 et40 and wrapping them in BFG sport comp-2 (budget is a concern here, I know they aren't the best BFG makes) in a 235/40r18 size.

Is that going to land me a somewhat meaty sidewall/tread? I've looked up the specs and I'm leaning to "yes", but I'm not sure.

Why do people makes excuses when buying Comp 2's? It's a good tire and much more street user friendly then say the Rival. I ran the G Force Sports for years on my last mini and loved them. Even preferred them to the higher price kdw. When my stockers wear out I plan on ordering comp 2's.

Your new wheel specs match the wheels I am getting. Work Emotion XD9?

if by meaty sidewall you mean no stretch then yes. on an 8' wide rim the appropriate tire size is a 235/245 depending on brand. you should be square and fill out the entire rim.

however 235 isn't exactly meaty. with that offset you will be a little sunk, but i'm sure it will look good either way!

By square do you mean the width of the wheel's lip, the tire's rim width, sidewall section and tread width should be the same?

Because I'm looking at the sport comp-2's in 235/40r18 and it says the lip width of the tire is 8.5", wider of course than the DY-12c's 8" lip. Tirerack says the tire is recommended for 8-9.5" widths, so I figure I'm safe but numbers on a sheet don't necessarily take everything into account.

235 isn't meaty as in wide- I'm really looking for a solid sidewall, for the tire to look thick and juicy on the wheel regardless of the overall width of the wheel, you know? No stretch!

It's probably cus they never used the tire before. Im a fan of bfgoodridge just because they make good cheap tires that last a long time. Used the comp 2's in the STi for a track day and they did great. I have the comp 2's on the frs now, and can't say much since i dont have an alignment but they're doing pretty good.

My Rota 17x9, 43 w/ Conti DW 245/40, matte black on black BRZ (dirty from weekend dirt road trip). Steering is just slightly heavier while rolling slowly, but that may also be brand new tires on concrete, although it is wet out for me. No odd handling noticable, lots more grip - particularly in the wet. Wheel alone weighs 19.5#, so negligable weight difference. Conti tires are supposed to be relatively light compared to other performance tires in the same size. Acceleration "seat of pants" feel is unnoticable to me.
