OFT - IAM drops to .70 on start (resolved)

Searched high and low but didn't find anything on this. I just brought my car in for 60,000 km service, and now my IAM drops to .70 every time I start the car.

The service involved cleaning the injection system, new air filter etc. Since getting the car back it seems to be running fine, had a bit of knock initially but that seems to have resolved itself. The only persistent problem is the IAM drop at start, always from 1 to .70.

It's a 2013 with OFH and I'm running a slightly modded version of the OFH stage 2 tune.

Here is a log that includes the start.

Wish it was that easy, closest 93 is a 17 hour drive from here. Not to mention I never had issues with 91 until the car was serviced.

IAM fluctuate. i used to have 0.98 or 0.82 something like that...sometimes it goes to 1 and sometimes it goes less than 1.
when i asked Shiv and other tuners they all say dont worry about it but i got sick of looking at it and tuned to 91 from 93.

Probably wouldn't be the cause but did you make sure the dealer didn't flash your ecu back to stock during the service?

Please read threads before you respond. My IAM is not "fluctuating" It simply starts at .70 the second the car turns over. I'm not getting knock or fuel quality issues.

Decrease timing by a couple degrees (base timing b) I doubt you'll lose any power and your IAM will go back to 1

Also scale your MAF

Possibly change avcs to suit your header if you have one

Is there anything rattling when you start your car?
IAM drops are caused when the knocksensor 'hears' knock and sometimes they confuse a rattling exhaust or some other noisy thing to detect false knock.

Hmm as the other guy said maybe dealer reflashed ecu at service.

In stock tunes the parameter IAM initial is set to 0.7, in almost all aftermarket tunes IAM initial is set to 1.

I think from memory the oft sets default values for some logging parameters like iam so when it gets no data from ecu on initial switch on it will default say iam to 1, but then it reads data from ecu and finds iam is actually 0.7 , you wont notice that if your iam is actually 1. Also you still had soke fbkc knock in that log -1.75, getting that a few times will hold the iam below 1

OFT tunes keep your original calid but update the base rom to the later factory calid. so delaer thinks you have old rom but you dont. eg a oft A01C tune is actually B01C internally but will report on dealer toll as A01C.

if your car now idles at stock 650 rpm its likey stock tune , oft tunes usually 700 or 750

Just reflash your tune from oft.

Leave it to Steve. I recently had ac serviced. When I picked the car up it felt doggy but has recovered over the last 100 miles. I had wondered if they snuck a reflash in but upon checking idle speed per last post, I realize they didn't.

Interesting. I was under the impression that if the dealer flashed my ecu, the OFT would no longer "recognize" it as my car (or it would brick it). The dealer was told not to touch the OBDII port and a note was written on the service sheet. Also I wouldn't think they would do that since its a scion and I brought it to a subaru dealer.

I will have a look today to see what tune is running, and probably re-flash either way. Thanks!
