I’ll next time
you absolutely need one of the non-contact voltage detectors. you've probably shocked yourself more in those 8 switches then i have in the last 6 months. and i do it every day!

when you work on outlets, you can use these to find circuits. i've had inconsistent luck with them, as some led bulbs make the same signal on the power wires, so you'll have the 'right' breaker with a weak signal, as well as an excessively strong signal from a breaker that has nothing to do with the circuit you're trying to locate.

not-so-fun-fact: there are a number of electrical outfits that don't label the panels until the very end, and don't label any of their wires going into the panels, so many times, they will haphazardly label the panel at the very end of the job by semi-educated guessing.

don't trust panel markings. turn off, and check first.

Those things are huge time savers. I showed up at a customer facility to do a refit a couple years ago and they ripped the equipment out before I got there. No way I could have figured it out without that tool. This guy is pretty handy too.

The guy next door just came over laughing. Apparently his neighbors across the street put in their puppy while they were working outside. He had to go inform them they need new blinds.

Omg, I can't stop laughing. Two steps and the straps come loose, bottoms packed with mud. The comedy was worth the $15. "Ok honey, only a half acre more of lawn to do."

I better start looking up aeration services.
