Yo, I finally bought a 2016 FR-S this past Monday. Right now it's at the dealership getting all the TRD upgrades and thermoguard. It still feels surreal since I've barely driven the car but I'm anxious to get it back tomorrow and break it in. If this car is as fun as the reviews claim and even half as fun as my Celica, I should be in for a great experience.

I live in south central KY and commute every day to my job in Louisville. I bought the car specifically for this commute and it is like racing to work every day. Most of the trip (160 miles each way) is on twisty back roads with virtually no traffic and 55 mph speed limits with no cops and average speeds of between 65 and 85, depending on the turns.

I got my car completely stock because I like the retro feel. That said, I use the bluetooth in the standard radio constantly. To me, the car actually harkens back to my old Opel GT, but far superior in every way. Naturally, it also means it is a manual six speed.

I'm a bass player and one of the huge benefits of this car is that I can get a bass and amp into it.

My wife and I are empty nester's (we're both 62) so this car was a practical choice for commuting. And, to be frank, if I still lived in the Seattle area I would not even have entertained getting this car. It would not have fit. I'd have just gotten an econobox to beat around the incredibly annoying rush hour there, and stuck with the motorcycle for back roads on my days off.

Also, we own a 1st generation xB and an iA.

I hope to share and acquire technical knowledge on the car on this site and maybe have some fun with other owners.

also, I have a 1/4 mile long gravel driveway that can be pretty rough at times, due to absolute monsoon rainstorms washing out my 80' drop from my house on the hill to the valley where it exits. Interestingly, after all these miles the suspension is still tight.

New to the site - Use to own a 2012 BMW 128i and campaign it in SCCA STX for 2014/15/16.

Will be purchasing a 2016 Scion FRS and doing a STX build on that car.

For those who may know the past car:

Eh, I disagree. The 128 was a big underdog. While I had success in it, a lot of electronic nannies I had to overcome to make it a perfect run.

Never saw a "perfect run" in that car.

Not to mention, I practically made the car undriveable on the street to try and keep up with FRSes

Hahaha I just like unique STX cars. Sometimes it's a 86 spec class!
