Family car to go with my BRZ
The redesigned Subaru Forester is on top of my list as my 2nd car for hauling kid and family duties. I’m disappointed they don’t offer the turbo engine anymore on the 2019 Forester, Sport model with 2.0T would’ve been perfect.

Currently using a VW GTI and it works great for 1 kid. Surprisingly accommodating rear seats, more than a lot of compact SUV's.
When we have our second, we will probably go with a VW Atlas.

When my kids were young our main family hauler was an Isuzu Rodeo. Basic 4 door mid-sized SUV. I think any brand you like similar car would be great, and everyone makes one.

We went with the Outback over the Forester. More room and wife liked it better. Been great so far. Worked like a champ on our road trip to Disney Orlando last year.

We rolled with the 2013 RAV4 and the 2013 FR-S.
The little 2.5 is actually really nice and smooth. Services are done at the same dealership.

I’m not a fan of the look of the Forester. If I had to do an SUV/crossover then I’d want a sportier stance like the Mazda CX5, Kia Sportage, Audi Q3 or Q5. I’m not a fan of most domestic brands and offerings. Some of the Jeeps look cool, but when considering engine offerings, reliability, features, etc, we decided the next upgrade would a used Q5. Everything else was lacking somewhere.

WRX STI was my last family car, seats 5, decent boot (trunk) and excellent safety rating, plus with roof racks it's extremely functional.
Kids now all have their licences so it's now sold and replaced with the 86. The Minister of War and Finances still has her Mitsubishi ASX though for her run around, she likes it, I hate it, it has no soul. |
