Sometimes you get lucky and only have to do it once. But otherwise you get twice the experience with twice the amount of time. Bonus for smashing your finger only once.

Of the 10 people on 2 teams for which I provide technical leadership:

1 is out with covid, 2 are dealing with other medical emergencies, 1 is on bereavement, and 1 is leaving at the end of next week.

Both projects have ambitious deadlines in February assuming full staff. I suppose I am the lucky one here but it really doesn't feel like it...

(Yes, I just wanted to whine about it anonymously)

my youngest co-worker keeps trying to convince me to turbocharge the car, and install a UEL header.. his tiktok videos keep showing people making 500hp in brz's that way, and he assumes that's what everyone wants.

of course, he just traded his nearly paid-off focus st for a focus rs, and then to differentiate his tools from everyone else's, wrote 'Focus RS' on every one of them.

young, stupid mistakes.

Think of it this way, you could have an awesome new PC build maxed out or high-end wheels and tires? lol it's a hard choice.

I mean, I already want to swap out my RAM and CPU. But... it's kind of impossible to find a Ryzen 5000 series CPU anywhere so I supposed that helps. Then again, car-wise outside Flex Fuel, I'm done on my build.
think of it this way. with a pc build, and a car game, you have unlimited tires and gas.

a good sound system, nice pc, and a steering wheel setup.. i crank up the sound, load up forza horizon and stream one of my favorite radio stations, and it's almost as good as driving the real car. at least i can do stupid ridiculous stuff the entire time without an increase in insurance premiums.

My 8 year old pup took a turn for the worst after a bad seizure did some sever damage to her liver and stomach. Vet estimated 1-2 weeks left in her. Trying to get the most out of my time this weekend while convincing myself to aid her in passing. Fucking sucks and doesn't get easier no matter how many times I've gone through this.

Terribly sorry. It would only be easy if we didn't love them.

This week has kinda bothered me. I saw my parents Sunday and my dad did the usual thing asking if I've found a girl or not, when am I going to marry, etc. Then Valentine's Day came up and I was kidding how it's Singles Day but would be a cool "anniversary" since last year's Valentine's Day was when I met and made a few super cool friends in Japan. So of course I said that and my dad asks "were there any girls?" so I finally had to admit that yes, there may have been one.

I'm not usually very sappy about girls but this one in particular is super special and the timing (plus distance of course) just didn't work out since she was with this one other dude already who I met the same night.

But of course because of that she's been on my mind again this week and of course last night I had one of the most vivid dreams in a while that I was back in Japan and *with* her (no hum, not a dirty kind of dream! ). I don't really remember many of my dreams that well, but it's been like 12 hours since I woke up and it's still on my mind.

Well, spike021, as far as your fathers comments about finding a girl/getting married, he is just trying to make conversation - many old men are not good at that with their children. I suggest you just answer "nope" and change the subject.

As far as dreams about girls in the past - their ain't nutten wrong with that - unless they are always about twins - then it's time to get real -

Just finished watching a vid of a guy comparing GR Supra w 1,000hp Supra MkIV & M2 CS which cost almost twice of GR Supra. Yeah, it sound ridiculous to compare, but it was an interesting comparison. Am I butthurt? Nah, he’s not wrong that M2CS is faster than GR Supra. 1,000hp Supra is faster than GR Supra. BUT somehow it driver better than new Z4, even though GR Supra & Z4 are same car. Huh I wonder why...

Come to think, that's actually a really good point. Playing Need for Speed or Forza is the only place where I can realistically afford car parts, engine swaps and a universe where the car is not slow.
