Trying to get ready for new tires. They are currently sitting on the stock tires and are a little stretched. Im trying to get a better tire fitment.

225/45R17 is pretty ideal.
I run those on my 17x8 +38.

I've seen friends run a 245/40R17 on a 8".
There are some threads on here about 245 tires becoming pinched on 8" wheels. Can effect feel.
235/40R17 probably has about perfect width for the wheel, but overall diameter will be less than stock setup. Availability also sucks when I looked at that option.

As others have said, 225/45R17 is a perfect fitment on a 17x8 ET35. It's what I'm running.

The Michelin's are a great choice for an all-season, and they have a squarer shoulder profile than the Pirelli's I'm currently running, making them look a little beefier and fill out the fenders a bit more. I'll be switching back to Michelin's after this set is ready to retire. That said, there's PLENTY of selection available in that size.

You can also go 245/40R17, but that's on the (low end) limit for wheel width for that tire width, and there's a much slimmer selection of tires available in that size. From what I gather, there *shouldn't* be any rubbing unless you're running a lot of camber from camber bolts. If you're on coilovers, then no issues.
