From what I read on this thread, some are happy with the 'flush' finish you get with 17x8 +48, while some are not. Looking at a few more pics will help me decide as I haven't seen one in person yet!

Also, I'm assuming this is stock setup with no coilovers or drops, right?

Thanks!

My setup is bone stock suspension except front crash bolts at -1 camber, stock tires.

The front at 17x8 +48 is close enough to being flush for me. At -1.0 camber with 215 wide tires, you will stick out just a tad more than stock (0.5") since the rim is wider by 1".

The rears are wider than stock for the same reasons above, but are not very close to being flush. You'd have to add 25+mm spacers to get it flush. For me, I'm not too concerned since it would be a ridiculous hassle to be flush in the front AND rear (spacers and studs, staggered, etc)

You could get the 17x8 +35, but I only found them in black on TireRack. But you'll have to bring some negative camber around -1.5 ish to get the fronts not to poke.

My car is getting detailed tonight so I'll get some good pics tomorrow.

Like some said here, you can get in 35 offset. I have a thread on this section with some pics for anyone that wants to see how they look.

17x8 +35 is the setup I'm looking for as I think that sits really well on the car and gives it a flush look, but they are NOT available in the color I want (Gold).

It seems TireRack offers only Black and Silver in +35 and not Gold.

This topic had 17" and 18" Ultraleggeras mixed together... I split the 18" stuff to this topic:

This topic is for 17x8.0 +48 fitments only now.

Do you guys think a 17x8 +48 will fit with a 245/40/17?

In the back yeah no problem.

In the front it will be tight on OE suspension, especially if you run negative camber through bolts and not plates

If I kept the stock suspension I wouldn't be running any camber. I might lower it on RCE yellow springs, if I lower it at all though.

Looks like no one here has the OZ setup in gold, so here is my contribution to the thread.

OZ Ultraleggera Gold - 17x8 +48
Michelin Pilot Super Sports - 22545/R17

Satisfied with the setup! Wanted light wheels and in 17s and this looks great too. Michelin PSS are great tires and I'll be taking them to my first track day this weekend. Got a random 'awesome wheels bruh' from a STi guy on my way to work today too! Made my day!

Quick question for all you guys who are NOT running the stock 215/45/R17 setup. How do you determine your ideal tire pressures? I'm assuming it will not be the recommended 35psi as those are for the stock tires. So what pressures do you guys run and how did you decide on running that pressure?

Regardless of the tire size or type, it would depend on your goals.

OE 35 psig is a decent starting point, but you will need to fine tune based on how you want your car to behave.

Hypermiling extremists pump up to 40+ psig to get great gas mileage on the highway.

AutoX guys measure front/back pressures to get the car to behave a very specific way for the layout that day.

See a good summary from TireRack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=58
