I admit that's also weak, but a few extra letters help avoid confusion - especially when you don't change 1-2 of the numbers at random every few years (looking at you BMW and Infiniti)

Well the EVs are actually called "Polestar" 2and 3 so they do have a qualifier.
Not like they have a 20 car lineup to keep track of.
Imagine if GM went with this naming strategy back in the 60s!

Polestar is the company name though. It's not a Volvo Polestar 2. Polestar is now it's 100% own entity.
