Recall of rear turn signal lamps

I just got the recall letter from Subaru telling me to sit tight and I will get a call when the dealer gets the new tail light assemblies in stock. Has anyone had one or both fail?

I got an email for the recall as well (Toyota here). I have the fast blinking problem.

I called Toyota and they said no remedy was ready yet (?). I know new tail lights are coming but it was weird that I got the recall email, when the lamps are not yet available.

I have had at least one incident where the left rear signal did not work.
A driver behind me let me know it wasn’t working.
The recall letter I received states they will send me a second letter when the replacement parts become available, hopefully in December.

It's for the hyperblinking. Had mine replaced under the original Canadian TSB a while back. They replace both rear lights. Stops the fast blinker issue when the sun is directly on the rear of the car.

It's how safety recalls normally work. In the US the NTHB requires the automakers notify owners of the problem in a fairly short time period regadless of parts or even a known fix action. The automaker will send out a second notice to let you know parts are available and it's time to schedule an appointment.

I got the same letter.

What I found interesting is even after receiving the letter last week, the My Subaru app does not show any open recalls on the car. This recall will interesting since my dealership knows little/nothing about BRZs and has only sold a couple.

Exactly. It's so the owner can make a judgement call on whether the vehicle is safe to drive, or needs to be parked until the fix is in place.

I haven't received anything. Does anyone know if this is specific to '22's? I have a '23.

I'd have to look up the dates but I think it's cars built from April '21 until some point in early-ish '22. I have an Oct 21 build date and land right in the middle.

Gotcha, I'd have to double-check but I think mine is July '22 build date.

Makes sense, been forever since I got a recall notice.

Also, I got the 2nd notice 2 days ago.
