Agreed - the fuel up here in Canada is honestly pretty bad. That said, that was basically half the reason for installing the meth injection - we should be increasing the octane rating of the fuel fairly significantly to the point it should be almost like race gas (according to my tuner at least).
Maybe it's placebo but I'm noticing that my supercharger is almost uncomfortably warm to the touch now after an extended drive. Before the added boost and meth, I could keep my hand on top of the unit and it'd be warm but not uncomfortable. Now I don't think I could keep my hands on it for longer than a few seconds. Also, I don't know if this placebo on top of placebo, but the car seems significantly more eager and torquier when it's both cold outside and it hasn't warmed up yet. After I've been driving for a bit, it doesn't feel nearly as torquey as it did when everything was cold - I've noticed this mostly in third gear but second seems like that too.. I'm starting to wonder if that's really a heat soak issue or if I'm just imagining things. Maybe a vented hood might help? |

I took it apart and reassembled. The runners are held on with hex socket bolts underneath and come off pretty easily.

Do you have before/after temps? I find it unlikely that there would be a significant change, given the temperature of everything involved!
I've heard that adding a second heat exchanger can significantly drop temps though. |

Just an edit, I ended up using Fel-Pro Karropak material gasket maker. Ordered a few things before settling on this. Got it off Summit. |

Motherfucker. What a shit show.
I bought a used kit w v1 delicious ff and had a few hiccups. Missing some coolant tb tubing. “Oh you don’t need those, they’re for cold climate.” Took Edelbrock a couple weeks to get them to me. Had to modify my alternator. Was missing the connector to the fuel pump, had to wait a week for a new sock and connector. Just finished putting in the fuel pump and flashed the ECU. Now it won’t start. Where it previously started w oem fp and no tune. I can hear the fp run when I turn on before starting. I did a 10+ on and off hoping the fuel pressure would normalize (or get enough to start). Nothing though. Any advice on how to test this fuel pump? Swap the stock one back in? It’s been a month plus and I wholly fucking regret buying some dudes used shit. |
