Thanks for getting back to me. I actually installed it this past weekend with zero issues. It was a lot easier than I thought. I'm always hesitant with the clock spring and the airbag but I made sure the clock spring was held down as I pulled the steering wheel so it didn't move. Took me no more than 20 mins taking my time and with the extender there was tons of wire.

All that said and done, it's a totally different experience driving the car. I can sit back comfortably, and the steering wheel is positioned perfectly, not to mention it no longer hits my knees so I have full rotation and can apply proper torque while driving. I kind of wish I got it ages ago.

Any one on the fence about getting this should buy it immediately. If you've never quite been comfortable and felt the steering wheel was too far or you were leaning forward to wrestle the steering wheel this is the answer!

Great job @949 Racing!

I had the same issue, it would unplug when trying to install the airbag, how do you fab up this extension? What parts needed?

This is a great thread. It's too bad the large versions of the images no longer works. That would be been super helpful.

I'll be installing mine tomorrow. I hope I can get my big mitts in there to handle some of the wiring tricks.

For anyone still reading this, I worked this out. I went to the trouble of getting all the images from the unreliable image host and combined all of this into a single document. There have also been changes with the 949 hub extender. If there is any interest in having this in a single doc, just message me and I can update the doc a bit and make it into a PDF and send it to you.

To everyone, I have converted this into a document you can download and print. I made the images larger so they are easier to see.

Keep in mind that 949Racing has made revisions to their product but it's not hard to understand the minor differences.

@Clutch Dog thanks for putting this together in the first place.

@daskaman here is the document you messaged me about.

Thanks a bunch! Doing my 2016 BRZ no realistic way to keep the horn attached seems like a few others ran into needed to secure/extend.

I found it to be a bit of a stretch by it worked OK for me. The horn is definitely functional. I also swapped steering wheels while I was at it because I didn't want to take this apart again later.
