It would seem from that comparison drive linked above, the PP makes next to no difference to the driving experience. Makes you wonder why Toyota even bothered…. Oh, yeah - to squeeze every drop of profit they can out of their customers.

Some people just bought the package for improved looks of having bigger brakes and that it is. Compared to a Willwood kit, entry Brembo kit, Essex or Stoptech kit, WRX retrofit, this was simple, cheaper and provided enough of a bump in performance and/or looks that it made sense. Again, not for everyone, but it is nice that they offered the option.

On the oil issues, unfortunately we have no clear idea of their prevalence but IMO there is certainly enough evidence for serious concern if you're tracking and maybe even if you are just cornering very hard on the street. |

I remember test driving a facelift 1st Gen with PP, trying to figure out if it was worth waiting for the 2022. By the gods the PP dampers were bouncy on the highway. Really annoying compared to the base 2017 suspension I had installed on my 2013.

Mine can drive stick, she just doesn't like it and so she says she can't. She learned how (I taught her) and quit as soon as she started to get the hang of it. There's an old knee injury involved, so I don't really blame her - it's hard to enjoy doing something that starts hurting after a while.
