So who is going to be the first one to try this on a BRZ/GR?

Power, power delivery, even rev-hang I don't have an issue with in this car. Just the goofy throttle map. Would love a linear pedal.

The tuning solutions for the 1st gen cars seem to be quite diverse and disparate compared to say, WRX. Much harder to get a good feel on what the options are with some casual searching.

Talk to your tuner about it.

I will say, the way the power delivery happens with *just* a tune from EcuTek helps a lot. Not sure if EcuTek tweaked the base throttle maps or what, but it's noticeably more responsive and more linear. It could still use some tweaking, but that's fine.

Thanks, it's clear now that tuning can solve it, but it's also basically the only option. I'll have to wait until I can get lots more seat time to decide if it's worth the risk. Few people seem to complain so I expect I can get used to it.

It really comes down to how much different it is vs. the other car I'll be driving. My WRX is tuned with an almost perfectly linear throttle, hence there being a little re-learning curve every time I spend lots of time in one then get into the other. I'll have a new DD soon, and for all I know it will be very similar to the GR86 and I'll forget all about that.

I’ve had GPS and LTE disconnected from my DCM since I got the car. If you jump the microphone and front speaker wires across the connector, you could remove it entirely.
