There are two people in the FT86 Enthusiasts Discord (there is a swaps thread under tech-talk) that are in the middle of swapping, both of them got a parts shipment over the last week or two and the harness was included... only thing missing for them is the oil pan

One ordered in late November, the other early December

Yeah I've placed various orders from Black Friday through January. I have gotten most of them but the electronics package is taking forever it feels like.

The very first thing I ordered was the Wiring Harness/ECU kit since it was the biggest deal on the Black Friday sale with the Haltech discount being the main bulk of that savings. Plus, I figured it would take the longest of anything else in the kit. And they probably had a ton of demand/orders placed during that time.

I ordered the builder kit late-December and got the oil pan and everything else from that fulfilled late-January which I thought was really good.

I think what's bothered me most is in the meantime I've seen other people on social media having ordered wiring harnesses/electronics packages more recently than I did receiving their orders... so I don't really understand their fulfillment order at all

I'd post up on the FB group and maybe that will motivate them?

I talked to KPower and they told me to send the harness in to them for repair... so I just got back from mailing it out.

I'm currently feeling a sketch level of about 12 out of 10 for making the events in less than three weeks.

I also just received my electronics package which I ordered in November.

Which also means no more dragging feet, it's go time!

I placed my full swap kit order on black Friday and haven't received a single thing. Sent many emails to kpower asking for updates and all I get back is, "You will be getting a tracking number very very soon" Its been months of hearing that lol.

Crossposting this from my thread but the tell-tale for a 74mm Bosch TB dying is that it hiccups during initial acceleration after start and throws codes for something like:

P2109 DBW Throttle 1 Disabled
P2145 DBW Throttle 1 Throttle Position Sensor Voltage Correlation
P2165 DBW Throttle 1 Relaxed Sensor Mismatch Settings

Could also be throttle 2 but I haven't had one fail that way yet.

The black strips here are the resistive strips for the internal throttle position sensors

For whatever reason they are being worn through really quickly, this TB has 6 events or like 400-ish miles on it.

Gear teeth are also eaten at WOT position.

Anyone get a custom carbon fiber driveshaft yet? I'm still waiting on the engine builder and want to get one ordered sooner rather than later. Anyone willing to get me the measurements of their aluminum one?

4 Piston Head Update

Dyno time!

I purchased and paid a shop ($2250) to assemble and install a 4 Piston TSX Pro head with some Toda A3 cams, 1. because my original head had leaking valve seals and I was tired of burning oil, 2. because after 15,000 miles I wanted a little more power, and finally 3. because I can no longer work on a car due to needing lower back surgery.

Well it just hit the dyno today and here are the results (followed by complete parts list).

The red lines are WHP and the blue lines are WTQ
The top lines are with the new head/cams on E50
The bottom lines are from when it was originally tuned on stock head/cams on 93
264.3WHP
199.4WTQ

Overall from when I first swapped the car to now:
+39.6WHP peak
+36.3WTQ peak

Comparing new head/cams on E50 vs stock on 93

I don't have an overlay of when I dyno'd on E85 with the stock heads, but looking back at that old dyno sheet, here are numbers for those curious
+30WHP peak
+4WTQ peak

While +4WTQ doesn't seem like a lot, looking at my E85 graph as a whole it makes more torque everywhere in the power band:
@3300 RPM +5WTQ
@4000 RPM +22WTQ
@5000 RPM +4WTQ
@6000 RPM +10WTQ
@7000 RPM +12WTQ
@8000 RPM +18WTQ

This is really good news to me because I was afraid I would lose some low end going with these cams and happy to report that the opposite happened which is great because this will always be a daily driver first and foremost.

Parts List:
2006 k24A2 from the junkyard - unknown miles
4 Piston TSX Pro Head
Toda A3 camshafts
Bosch 74mm TB with Kpower adapter (we'll see how long this holds out)
Mishimoto Powerstack Performance Air Filter
Toda Valve Springs
Ferrea Valves
OEM retainers, locks, seats
Viton Valve Seals
Toda Timing Chain
Toda Oil Pump Chain
Toda Chain Tensioner
ARP Head Studs
Trac Truf 40 degree VTC limiter (this might have been overkill and may have even robbed a HP or two but I wanted to be safe than sorry)
OEM guides
DragCartel lower guide

I don't have the car back yet but once I do I'll do an acceleration video and compare it to the old E85 setup.

Here is the dyno vid:

Any chance any of you with a v1 engine harness have the harness out of the car? My harness came back from KPower and the thing doesn't read any of the cam/crank sensors and the throttle doesn't work.

Ready to set it all on fire, I've got a day to get it figured out.

Fortunately it was just two mis-pinned wires, it is alive. (they swapped DBW motor 12v and 12v for the sensors)

I had a friend who just got his kit do some multimetering for me, it looks like they changed wire colors for some stuff and moved some stuff from regular ground to sensor ground (dbw went to sensor ground, cam/crank are still regular ground).

@funkjaw, I'm really surprised at the power you're making - sounds quite healthy, haha.
