Idle is not controlled by the AVCS tables you see in Romraider or whatever, like a bunch of people already said.
That said, you CAN introduce lope at low load by adding exhaust cam retard. About 10 degrees should do the trick. I got some pops with 5 degrees at 1600-2000rpm. Basically the overlap will be diluting your charge to the point where it has trouble burning. However your car will be shaking a bit, which may or may not be annoying. |

So pretty much, possibly raise the target idle speed to 1000 RPM and then retard ignition timing for 1000 RPM in the first couple of low load cells?
My line of thinking is that if you have a higher idle, when it stumbles from the timing retard it won't drop low enough to kill the engine. The reason to change the ignition timing at the target idle speed is that's the only way to have the car hit that at idle, with doing it at 1000 RPM is all the OFT maps I've looked at have an 800 RPM row so as the idle drops, it will interpolate and the timing will pick back up to shoo the idle back up. I think all of this though would just make the car sound like it had the "Honda cough" i.e. bad IAC valve and a hunting idle though. Or I could be way off on all this.

Good point on the timing table not controlling idle. I'm still learning this car.

Trying this as we speak.
If my neighbors get mad that I disturbed their Mariachi Karaoke session I'm telling them that Kodename47 made me do it. Sent from my Galaxy S8+ using Tapatalk |

When vvt is enabled avcs is always active, idle or not. I know that's not popular belief but ecutek shows it operating, watch the duty cycle and solinoid current. When vvt enabled the pin is unlocked and it's running off the oil chambers in the phasers. Last edited by brzlegend; 09-01-2021 at 09:33 PM. |
