Low 80s? even with catless headers? I kinda find that hard to believe. Are you measuring at tailpipe or in-cabin?

Measured at SCCA autocross events - meter set up 50 feet from the edge of the course at a spot where you should pass full throttle.

Anyways, JDL Ultra Quiet Resonated + Perrin 2.5" Resonated does the trick on a JDL 4-2-1 header. This is the outside sound of it:

I was in a similar situation last season, I had been using a Tanabe Concept G single exit catback with stock header/OP/mid pipe.

I added an Ace350 catless header and catted mid pipe to the mix and it was horrendously loud.

Ended up replacing the Tanabe exhaust with a CSG Touring86 catback and its MUCH quieter, almost stock levels anywhere below 3K rpm and a nice tone on the upper end. Would recommended 100%

Thanks to everyone for your input and suggestions. While I may not have gone with exactly what you recommended all of your responses really helped me make a good choice.

I ended going with the MXP Comp RS. I received it today and just got it installed. It was exactly what I was looking for. It's just the right amount of loud combined with a good deeper sound. The 3" pipe is what makes the difference I think.

Anyone know the weights on the exhaust they are running? I am probably going to need to replace my current one sooner than later, but would like to get something lighter.

Currently, I have the Invidia q300 cat back.

I love my HKS Hi-Power Spec-L.
It is one of the lightest cat backs you can reasonably buy that is stainless and dual exit @ about 22 lbs.

@Breadman and anyone here who uses a phone app to measure decibels. Most phone's microphones max out their reading at around 88-90decibels. Some apps do small tweaks to try and get readings beyond that, but its nowhere near accurate. I have an actual sound level meter tool, the same people at tracks/events and cops use (or similar) and when the phone app would read 88deb, I could be reading 100+ on that, or I could be reading 88 as well. Im not saying dont use them at all, just dont trust the reading on it if its 88 or higher, its not accurate enough to avoid getting kicked/warned at a track. I've seen many people already that went thru exactly that, though I would spare you the troubles.

i have one too which i keep in teh glove box in the off chance i get pulled over, but left it on by mistake and killed the 9v. it read within 1db of my phone at idle. that is within the meters range of error of +/- 1.5dB. also if phones are maxed out at 90db just double your distance and now its maxed at at what would be 93db from the starting location. its simple physics

As long as you are aware of how it works. Like I said, im not saying dont use them, just know when/if they are maxing out or you actually have an accurate reading. Still, 88db at iddle is fking loud lol. My car used to make 89db at full throttle and load at 15feet pass by.

again distance matters im about 3-5 feet away. lets say 4 just for the sake of argument, the difference between 4 feet and 16 feet would be 88db and 82db. also iirc that was cold start and at warm idle i was at 82db

Have any pics? Everywhere I look at these has different tips and no real info on what tips they have.

Seen blue'd, nomral, and some "cf" covers

Those are the three styles you can choose from. I have the version with the carbon fiber 'covers'.
