All about smiles per mile, and >20x track days on $1.5k pads is cheaper than most track rats spend on consumables. You don't need to convince me they're worth it, I just wish you'd stop dangling bait to "pm me for details/price" and just endorse the product. |

Holy S**t. @CSG Mike which pads are you running? I have tried PF08s (6 days and they are gone), DTC60 (3 track days) DTC70 (again 3 days). Killer for us is Summit Point which is hard on brakes. I have OEM caliper, titanium shims and stock blank rotors. Sticking with Hawk because of the contingency dollars. But if you have a better recipe, I am all eyes and ears. Thank you in advance.
Cheers, Lutfy[/QUOTE] Somewhere between Hawks and Mike's $1500 pads made of pure unobtainium, you might get good service from a set of GLoc pads. When I traded my STI for the BRZ this year I had GLoc R16 front pads and older Carbotech XP12 rears that fit the BRZ Brembos so I put them on the new car. 12 days on track this year I see no wear on the rears and think I see some wear on the fronts but nothing close to replacement level. Eventually I'll have GLocs all around, but for now everything seems to work just fine and wear is definitely minimal. |

Sorry, gotta PM me for these. Out of my control.
Specs? They're 0.44mu and rated for 800C. These are not pads you buy for their paper specs, nor should you ever buy pads based on paper specs. Brake pad specs are about as accurate as tire UTQG ratings. |

Planning to finally venture that far north sometime next year. Which groups use the Grand course at VIR for their events?

Mine are Ferodo DS1.11 since I had my AP racing big brake kit. I did get pad breakage in a couple of pads which alledgedly was caused by improper bedding according to the supplier (I do not buy this theory at all but whatever, I've got free replacement as it happened very early and in one day usually). This is why my next set once I kill these Ferodos will be Carbotech XP-12. Quote:

I cannot thank you enough for sharing your knowledge with us.
Thanks to you, I have decided to go the Exedy route as well and also ordered the 30502AA150 clutch release bearing part from Subaru. When I removed the transmission, I was greeted by a ball of shredded metal that used to be the clutch release bearing. Signs of high temperature in the pilot shaft and the fork was scratched heavily as well. Quote:

I am still on stock calipers running DTC60's all around with DBA3000 rotors and a velox brake cooling kit. I am not quite as fast as a few of you that have commented but I have 10 days on them (3 at Watkins Glen and i drive to and from the track) and they are still good and I haven't had any fade with this setup. I have to replace the front rotors tho. They are a little past crazing at this point. One day I will be bawler enough to buy a AP Sprint kit. Just thought I would share my stock caliper findings.
This thread is great. Thanks!
