Along those lines, @Riftur I have wrapped a band around the inside of the cup holder with the desired thickness of sticky-one-sided, foam window insulation.

I've got a cardboard insulator ring from a latte cup that decided to stay there by itself.
Seems to work.

Hey, should I plasti-dip it?

I just used the fuzzy side of a strip of Velcro. I think it needs one more layer and it will be secure. I might have to glue the second layer onto it though since the fuzzy side might not let the sticky side adhere to it well. The beer koozie was to thick.

hmmm......just put the two sides together and don't pull the tape off of the sticky side that's going to be on the inside next to the cup ......
