I had an eye procedure today and I can't see well enough to drive yet tonight

I'm near metro on strandherd at the lights

Hey gang,

Found this thread a couple of days ago and figured I should introduce myself and throw out a question while I'm at it! Picked up a BRZ in early May after about two years of procrastinating (sorry, no decent pictures) and so far I'm very happy! I've helped out the MCO a couple of times this year at Calabogie so I'm sure I've seen some of you guys up there lapping your FR-S/BRZs and met at least one of you. Not planning on doing much to it this year other than pads and brake fluid for the track (I say that now, we'll see).

Speaking of track....I plan on a lapping night or two within the next month and I'm on the fence whether or not to just keep the oil that came with it or go 5W30. When I'm daily driving it I'm not very hard on it. For those that track/autocross, how soon did you change the oil either to 0W20 or 5W30 after getting the car? The more oil threads I read on the interwebz the more confused I get. Lol.

Seems like there's a great group of Toyobaru owners in and around Ottawa from what I've read so far!

Welcom @Chico.

I changed the factory oil at around 5K, then had a Toyota change at ~13K. My next change was done a week before my first track day at ~17K, so a little early.

I'm trying out the Quaker State Ultimate Durability 0W20. Spec wise it is very close to the high end oils that everyone raves about, but when it's on sale at Crappy Tire it is a LOT cheaper. I'll be changing it before the next track day and should be at around 23K and I will be sending a sample for analysis to see what I can see.

My engine didn't blow up at the track, so I'd say it's good so far.

Just picked up my frs yesterday after sitting on the fence for what seems like forever. Around what time does everyone meet up at M&M? Any specific place thats favorite for the twins?
