Here's my new setup
Dual cans by Saikou Michi with custom vent and PCV hard lines. It's boosted so I have a check valve on the PCV line

OK. Understood. The strut tower bar is much more towards the front, so the AOS fits well behind it actually. But if you did not have mounting parts (you must be got a universal version) - this location makes sense, I like it! |

I use it in my Land Cruiser and it works great. Only downfall is that it's plastic bowl so gotta keep it from a large heat source. Plus I can see when to empty it. On a new car with tighter valve seals like an FR-S you may have to empty it twice a year.

I'm running the Crawford BRZ/FRS specific catch can/air-oil separator on my car. Nice product, seems to be working fine (no way to really tell as it dumps any oil collected back into the engine).

First I made this.
Pvc y pipe, sink strainer baskets at entry and exit along with strainer covers and stainless mesh from a tea maker sphere. Zip tied to a bookend under the battery. It worked very well for a few months. But on my last autox day Apparently the heat/fuel exposure softened the plastic to the point where it cavitated. IMG_6674 by utekineir, on Flickr IMG_6675 by utekineir, on Flickr So, decided to try something new. Can of nair $3, Autozone breather filter $5, reused fittings, hoses, bookend, also some electrical tape, zip ties, jb weld and paint and a bit of scotchbrite pad. Also had to buy a couple bolts to plug the return hoses with, since nobody stocks big vacuum caps locally. IMG_6716 by utekineir, on Flickr IMG_6719 by utekineir, on Flickr IMG_6717 by utekineir, on Flickr IMG_6728 by utekineir, on Flickr After a few days it seems to be working just fine. The smell is much more apparent than it has been in the past when I had a vta can mounted at the front of the bay on a different car. I'm guessing the battery location is close to a cabin air intake. Basically any time with the fan on at stopped/low speeds it can be smelt. I'll sort out a relocation. The best bonus of everything. My balls have never been this smooth. The nair worked like a champ. I won't be adding a drain. I'll either extract with a big syringe and hose or just pull the can and pour out.
