The big question is what is the likelihood of someone who was NOT given that vaccine experiencing one of those outcomes? If the rate at which vaccinated folks are experiencing blood clots and other cardio-pulmonary events is the same or lower than those who did NOT get the AZ vaccine (assuming proper controls for spurious causes) - the vaccine has nothing to do with it. It's a fairly straightforward analysis.

My bet is that's the basis for the announcement that there is no connection.

Not afraid of anything, already vaccinated too........just made a sarcastic comment that went

I'll bet you there are going to be a LOT of zeros to the right of the decimal point before you get to the first significant digit. I'd also bet that the vocal anti-making crowd are significantly underrepresented among that tiny group. If you're not testing daily you don't know with certainty that you are not infectious today.

Are you certain that receiving a vaccination makes you incapable of transmitting the virus?

The CDC is not certain and suggests that until more data are available the vaccinated should wear masks.

Are there benefits to a demonstration of solidarity in the face of an intractable enemy?

There is, I think, research that demonstrates that when a people join together to make joint sacrifices for the good of the whole it has a positive effect on the morale of the whole group.

No one is assuming everyone without a mask is infectious. However, some of them certainly are. Which ones? I don't know, you don't know. Were you tested today? Yesterday? The day before? Even if you were vaccinated, how do you know you are not in the 8 percent of the vaccinated who will get the virus? Apply these questions to every adult in the country.

When you do, wearing a mask in public seems like an eminently sensible thing to do. It also demonstrates a level of respect for and consideration of the mental and physical health of everyone with whom you may come into contact.

Given that, my big question is, why do you and the other anti-makers insist on being so obnoxious about this?

What is so hard about being a decent person and wearing an effen mask?
Lots of assumptions here, lol. Love the righteousness you portray. But as typical in discussions these days you cannot state your viewpoint without name calling, very childish. Multiple, credible studies have called into question the effectiveness of masks. Just because your viewpoint differs doesn't make those studies any less important.

Last I checked our immune system need "exersize" to remain strong against biological attacks. The more we are exposed to things the better the immune system is at fighting them. Same reason you send kids to daycare/school when young, to expose their immune systems to threats. Herd immunity works through exposure including vaccines. The longer the "healthy" portion of our society hides from this virus, the longer herd immunity will take, and the longer we'll have to deal with this.

Common sense over fear.

It's my choice if I want to be out there with you or not and in my case I have been fortunate that I have really only gone out for groceries and necessity rather than to be out there working every day. Assuming most people are wearing masks simply because it puts others around them at ease, and they are willing to make that concession in order to do this without a philosophical rant whether they know they are infected or not. Almost like gun laws, leave it up to individuals to carry the power to easily kill others and trust they are doing the right thing. Statistically, a very tiny percentage of people have shooting rampages, but we will never open up gun availability to citizens here. I do believe there are times when government authority is necessary mostly pertaining to the overall safety of it's citizens. Not sure why I keep hearing screaming LIBERTY!!! but in the background there is the word safety!! barely acknowledged. Anyway, the guy working Starbucks at $14/hr to finish his graduate degree really appreciates the plexiglass that keeps you separated.
Assumptions are a bad thing, I wear a mask anytime im around other people, not because I think its effective. Because the rampant, ill advised fear spread by our "leaders" has made everyone freak out if I don't. To bad there is no critical thinking by individuals anymore, just a hive thinking structure. Forbid you think for yourself than have the hive think for you.

This thread is proof that you are incorrect...if you don't follow the main line of thinking you are labeled, ridiculed, etc. Nobody wants to hear/discuss a differing opinion. They are screaming so loudly that their opinion is right they can't hear anything else.

You do see the irony in your statements right? I think what you are seeing in others is frustration with people who tend to express similar viewpoints as you. Your statements apply more to those aligned with your thoughts as opposed to it.

If you feel you have done enough research to refute the findings and advice of the CDC, please present that research here to me. I have reviewed a number of such presentations on this forum (including now closed threads) and there are always more holes in it than any research supporting the current guidelines. In fact, I was originally opposed to much of the mandates, but found that a difficult position to maintain in the face of overwhelming evidence supporting it.

I often like to propose arguments contrary to the popular opinion myself just for discussion purposes, but this is something that needs to be taken seriously, immediately. As such, I will be following whatever practices the authorities recommend, which may be followed up by asking questions as necessary. Thank you for masking up, regardless of your reason for doing so. Please continue to adhere to social distancing practices and encourage others to do so until we have the virus under control.

Think of going maskless in public like being the one whore in the brothel that refuses to use condoms. . Some people might wanna dive right in because its more comfortable for them. But you discover most would be reluctant to do so.

There's Karen waiting for you.

Thanks for the thought.
I don't care to leave my medical information laying around out in public.
It's a thing. Nor phone number or address.

Won't use facebook or gmail for much the same reason.

I worry about the digital covid as much as the real thing.

To be fair, I chose homebrew because i found the choice funny.
I haven't gotten the jab even though I am "essential".
Company finally supposed to get us the shots next week.
Forms only got to us this year.

Thankfully the only person to get the vid at my job was me.
Most likely from the dipshit my sister and her husband decided they would let visit our house from Cali early last year.
