Okay, it has been a while since I updated. The shop all got sick over the holidays and into the new year. So we lost about 2 and half weeks of build time. The cage is done now and the car is going up on the rack for some of the bolt on stuff. The interior will be painted once the paint booth is back in operation as they moved a week ago. Should be up and going soon.

We opened up the front of the car for the Jackson Oil Cooler and also performed the AC delete.

Almost all the parts have arrived. More to come soon and more frequently.

R

Recovering the AC fluids.

The paint booth should be up this week and the car should get the cage and interior painted soon. The rear suspension is on the car, front is almost done, as is the oil cooler. Brake ducts are in work. The front and over pipe have been stuck in the snow. We are getting close. I'll post more pics once I can get over the mountains.

Weld new attachment brackets to the new crossbar. You can see a little bit from the below photos in the paint booth. I'll try to get a couple photos before the dash goes back in.

The car is coming along at slower pace than I had hoped. The paint booth we use moved to a new facility and had to be reassembled. First car in the new place is the FRS. The cage is complete and is drying in the paint booth at this time. You can see the door bars now.

In Primer:

In Color:

Glass goes in tomorrow morning and the paint cures over the weekend and then back to work.

The first race at Thunderhill is approaching quickly. A test day is no longer in the cards. The car is mostly done as far the build but there is always something to do.

So we will do all we can to be prepared here and hopefully do as little as possible at the track.

Still need to finish off the interior with safety equipment. Hit the dyno and get the tune correct. Align and corner balance the car. Figure out where we want to put ballast.

Totemo_Hayai is making the number and class decals. Thank you

If all goes well, I will be making more posts with more pics in the next couple of weeks.

We made it to Thunderhill

So much work done this evening. Colin and Roldan have been working all evening on the car. And still more to do tomorrow. We will be on track tomorrow There is no way I would be on track tomorrow without their massive amount of help

There has been a lot of sleepless hours leading to this point.

Hopefully the weekend goes well and work on cars decreases. I can post up some more pics .

Long eventful weekend. Much to add later this week. My car survived the weekend and drove on the trailer with no issues. The other two had significant damage after a boneheaded move by a Miata driver. One of the cars will be out of service for some time while being repaired. I will get home tomorrow and head to Portland on Friday.

As the weekend evolved in the paddock

My clock spring got broken during the cage build. The car would only run in limp mode on Friday. It took some time diagnosis and confirm that the clock spring was the issue. There was another competitor that had a spare car in their trailer and said have ours. We did and the car worked great on Saturday. I finally had a chance to drive the car fast. I was not with the fast guys but the point was to make sure it works well and nothing else is assembled wrong. Remember we worked on the car till very late both the previous evenings to get to this point.

This happened on Saturday's race.

Colin got rear ended by a Miata that caused lots of rear damage

and turned Colin into Roldan resulting in this.

Roldan was fast Yesterday and finished 2nd. I was not so quick and I think I need to look at the alignment and suspension bolts as the car moved around quite a bit and I had a total lack of confidence on which direction it was heading.

Heading out to Portland next weekend.
