As I expected home hunting has been very bad for my big garage desires. I've got 2 realtors sending me locations and best their coming up with are suburban homes with 3 car garages (double garage and a small side garage tacked on...) Not quite the detached shop I planned.

Talking with my father he's suggested building one. Not something I've remotely considered or even know the process for but will look into for 2021.

Welp last goal for 2021 was met. Paid the tax-man in full (on the last day of the year)... on the bright side I also finally ordered plates for my RX-7 and tS and got some good ones. (Dorito and Flat 4.)

Hope 'ya have a good night see you in the next year.

You should look into pole barn style shops. My contractor buddy is building a 40X60 at his place with a loft and is planning on being under 45k with a loft and bathroom.

they were heavy, and no one ever needed to look at it when there were only 3 stations to choose from!

relatively simple.

1. find/purchase lot, or a run down house worth buying and demoing.
2. get a contractor. some lots are owned by contractors that stipulate that they need to build the house. i suggest getting your own contractor.
3. design
4. build
5. extras
6. cry

i believe he's still looking in/near the city, and most cities have regulations against such buildings. the powers-that-be believe they look ugly.
