When I had a Tiburon (back in 03), I remember people asking if it was a new Aston but if someone asks me if the 86 is a Lambo, I'm going to die laughing.

Yep. My Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow got mistaken for a new Supra before the A90 even came out... not sure how that happens.

They need to prove that 300hp or whatever is greater than 200hp. Apparently they still don't quite understand how to count.

Exactly. I don't grandpa onto the highway from entrance ramps, I make sure I'm up to speed and ready to merge...though I will put my cruise control on and relax in the right lane because I already attract enough attention being bright orange. I don't need to provide any actual reasons for anyone to try to pull me over. I guess I entered the highway aggressively enough that he felt compelled to see if he could show me that my car is slower than his since he's got twice the power and 150% of the weight. Most of the time, I'm just trying to go to work and want to be left alone, man, lol.

Some guy in a Red Mini Cooper S pulled up beside me and said he really liked the car. Also told me to keep what he said a secret from the Cooper guys

Yup that happens to me all the time. I accelerate too quickly from the light or pass one, they book it.

My new 86 is less than a month old, and has a bit over 1K miles on it. I've gotten compliments from several neighbors, with one mention of how much they loved the Hakone green. Dude at a gas stop asked me "Is that one of those new Supras?". "No, it's an 86", says I. He replies "It sure looks good, though". My '13 Firestorm got similar reactions. It's funny that so many have no clue what it is, even though they've been in the wild for 8 years.

The Supra comments are funny, but at least it's the right badge and the right FR layout.
I got Porsche early on, which boggled my mind. Porsche doesn't have any coupes that resemble the Twins, or even the FR silhouette.

Must say, it does look a bit like the Porsche Pacifica or whatever they're calling it.
