I mostly do too. Most of my friends have kids so usually hanging out is revolved around cooking a meal and BS'ing.

How time flies! Did I ever mention that Mrs. Ultra retired on the first of the year?

Well, you didn't mention it here at least.

My mom retired last year and I think she's bored out of her mind lol. My dad is still working for the next year or two so they are still stuck with the limitations that employment brings (vacation time, days of the week etc.)

Mrs. Ultra isn't so much bored as she is conflicted in her transition. Her former Costco pharmacy teammates fawn over her whenever she visits but she only misses her customers and the reward of service. She's doing well and I expect that she'll soon find a place for all that extra love and energy.

Yeah, my mom volunteers with a school supply non-profit. The trick seems to be saying no when they inevitably ask if she wants to do things that sound too much like a job lol. Like accounting, or management, etc.

That's how my dad stays busy. He is part of American Legion, Oddfellows, and is on his second term as a city councilor. He also volunteers for a lot of planning committees. He's busier now then when he worked.

Does this forum count as volunteer work? I've been volunteering today. I don't think it was appreciated.

I appreciate all your hard tapping! I also keep a mental note of the quickest way to get to an ultramaroon post because I use your service manual link all the time lol.

Is it ironic that I spend most of my time in OT?

Back on the farm, we kept the bacon grease/lard in a wooden barrel in the below ground fruit cellar. The ice box was for other things.
