Can't have it since Hydrogen will pollute just as bad as gasoline and the benefits won't outweigh the cons. Oh well. Guess turn it into nothing too.

Hyundai Pony Coupe Based On N Vision 74 To Enter Production After May 27 Debut

https://www.carscoops.com/2023/05/hy...-may-27-debut/

The Hyundai N Vision 74 concept that impressed with its retrofuturistic looks may soon be wowing shoppers as the automaker reportedly prepares to unveil a production version on May 27

When it was first unveiled, the Hyundai N Vision 74 concept impressed with its retro design, and its futuristic powertrain. Now, rumors suggest that the car has garnered enough attention for the Korean automaker to put it into production.

Korean outlet Money Today reports that Hyundai is planning to hold a ‘Pony Day’ on May 27 at its design studio in Seoul, where it will announce and reveal a production version of the sports coupe.

While it has not been confirmed, it is possible that the production model may adopt the historic Pony Coupe moniker. The N Vision 74 concept was inspired by the original Pony Coupe Concept, which was a two-door version of the Hyundai Pony sedan that was first introduced at the Turin Motor Show in 1974.

The Pony nameplate was a major success for Hyundai, with the (less exciting) production version launching in 1975 and remaining in production in various forms until the 2000s. Both the first generation model and the coupe concept that preceded it sported bodies designed by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro.

In a decision with poetic resonance, Money Today reports that it is Fabrizio Giugiaro, Giorgetto’s son and the co-founder of GFG Style, who is handling the design of the production version of the modern Pony Coupe.

What is less clear is whether Hyundai will choose to give the alleged production version of the Pony Coupe the same powertrain as the N Vision 74. That car had a rather complicated hydrogen hybrid power system. It featured both a hydrogen fuel cell and electric motors. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a few more weeks before we find out if the automaker plans to simplify the concept or not.

With you on a MR2 EV (although it probably wouldn't qualify as mid-engine) but this thing looks like it is a car designed by Lego, and not in a good way.

Tastes vary of course.

What really blows my mind here is that the car has artificial engine sounds, if so desired. But the engine sounds that it replicates are those of a 4 banger! I realize that all of Hyundai's N performance vehicles have used 4 bangers, but lol FFS, not sure I would have gone this route.

Also seems impressive that it can go 2 rounds against the Nurburgring before performance degradation.

Not as ridiculous as N-E Shift, although I wouldn't want either.
