Foglight tints?

Hey guys

I just purchased some fog light tints for our brz on ebay but for the hell of them spending a hours i cannot get them on well? I followed the instruction precisely and still did not acheive a good result even with a heat gun on the lowest setting the edges just pinch/fold over each other. I got so frustrated i wasted them and just chucked it in the bin. So for guys that did this where did you purchase your tints for our fogs and how about did you achieve the perfect finish?

thanks in advance

You're not the only one. I couldn't for the life of me get the Laminex ones on right. I'm sure someone experienced with windo tint would be much better at it. In fact when I get the car tinted I may buy another set and pay the guy a little extra to install those too. For now $17.99 down the tubes.

I did the same thing when I bought yellow overlays for my STi. Ended up just throwing them away as I couldn't get them on without bubbling.

"Tint" is the plural of tint. There are no such thing as "tints". Just FYI.

mine went on ok. i ordered from ebay and it came with 3 pieces (1 for spare). I used one for practice. The trick is to have three hands. two hands to hold steady the tit, one hand to hold the heat gun. Make sure the tint is wet underneath so you can move it around, then heat the damn thing until it changes from flat to curve, then just squeegee it.

I got mine just using a cheap roll of yellow ebay vinyl.
Cut a bigger portion than you need - one thing I noticed is that there is a small gap between the fog light lens, and the fog light housing (the black plastic) - if you have a thin tool like a squeegee or even a ruler, you can push the excess into that gap (seems to help the vinyl "flatten")
Some mild bubbling is probably unavoidable, but probably unnoticeable.

Now the taillights on the other hand - I want to tear my hair out....

That explains all the trouble guys are having with installation, tits are distracting.
