There's definitely a steep learning curve. I'm a total hack. Always end up with a huge heat-affected zone but this is mainly because I learned with oxy-acetylene and crossed over into GTAW.

I can't stick weld to save my life.

Me too, I don't weld often enough and fall out of practice. It takes me a while and I can usually get back up to speed. About that time is when I stop welding again. I was playing with my tig a lot for a while but ran out of gas 4 months ago. Will be starting from scratch again with that

I haven't stick welded in 20 years.

Welding supply is a few minutes away. I start fresh every single time. Practice for a day with scrap before the real job.

I’ve spent about four hours trying to assemble this ikea tv stand/console. This is way more trouble than it’s worth.

Busy day. Finally finished up the last of my home repairs from the damn racoons's that broke in a few months back. Next up see about resealing the chimney as a few bricks look like they are about to crumble/let go.

Also dropped ol' blue off to get the ac refrigerant sucked down and refilled. Will also let them see if they can verify my timing issue be it a bad gear, ecu mismatch or valve clearance issues, (p0018, p219a, p304.) I don't really have much confidence in them though, especially when the service writer asked me if my gas cap was tight... I really don't want to throw anymore parts and money at this thing but, it is one thing off my plate for now. On the bright side, it freed up a spot in the driveway which is sweet.

Going to grab some dinner and possibly stop by and see if there is a PS5 instock at a local store, brothers been hassling me to buy one so we can play together... I got the last gen consoles but use them more for streaming these days than playing.

Installed several smart light switches in the new house. Entertainment room & hallway wiring was so fucked up, it took me 2 days to figure things out. At this point, I would prob become electrician... no that’s a lie. I electrocute myself so many times. Not cuz I didn’t turn off the breaker, but damn switch next to it is power by other breaker
