I took some sandpaper to mine just to roughen up the surface where the markers are. It helped a bit.
The slightest incline or decline will throw the reading off. |

If you look at what an accusump does, it dumps quarts worth of extra oil into the system during an oil pressure drop. The few ounces you are over is fine. High G oil starvation, about 4000-4200rpm. Street car on 200TW tires, 5psi.

To add this convo, check the other side of the dipstick. One side always reads higher than the other. Read from the side that reads lowest.
One time a few years ago after doing my own oil change, I thought I had overfilled the oil! I drove over to my local mechanic and showed him and he laughed, and said subarus always read high on one side. Flip the dipstick over and see if it reads lower. |
