Congratulations and good luck with the house and move!

Oh we know exactly what kind of car you'll be driving in Georgia.

Reported, you don't belong here anymore. Excommunicated!!

4 doors, fun to drive... sounds like Type R is "the best" for you. What is your thoughts or you considering another like GR Corolla or WRX?

Dude, that's the old South. These days we all drive something like this...

Need to update your stereotypes there, heh?

I'm thinking something more like a Crosstrek. I'm not going to play the dealership inflation games anymore and low production-high cost nonsense. It's not worth it.

Yesterday, I replaced the Pilot Sport 4 tires with Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires. I got tired of taking off and the rear end not getting with the program. This morning it was 32 deg.F out and the ass-end was glued to the ground. The summer tires were pretty good, but it is cold and wet a lot around here. I did the same thing with my 2017 BRZ, but much sooner. I thought that I could live with these summer tires until they wore out, but four cars in the ditch down the road from me last Sunday sealed the deal for me. My favorite stretch of road for spirited driving generates a lot of income for the tow truck companies. From what I have seen from the last few years is what is left gets taken directly to the junk yard for recycling.

The wife liked her new Crosstrek. She got rear ended on her way into work this morning.

If I bought something else right now it would be an EV or an Outback Wilderness.

Love the Outback Wilderness in that metallic green.

My son has one in silver. He recently drove it home to Seattle from Brownsville, TX through the Great Basin snow event a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t miss a beat unless you count him high centering it in a snow bank. Even with that, with a little manual snow rearrangement and X-Mode deep snow and mud, it drove itself out.

I love the thing. If I lived where he does I’d own one.

A part of me wants to wait and see what comes of this supposed EV STI.

I was going to say I want something more mundane so I don't get shit in traffic, but... that still happens

We got a '23 Integra and we love it!

-6-speed manual - and a really really good one, at that!
-handles phenomenally. Shockingly light for its size, very competent vehicle dynamics, limited-slip diff, etc.
-liftback with folding rear seats, so can hold a ton of things
-so far about 32 MPG combined, and 42 MPG personal best (150-mile freeway-only drive)
-very comfortable seats
-understated but very eye-catching in person
-bought at MSRP

The Civic SI/Integra and the Mazda3 Hatch were the only internal-combustion cars we were considering for this role (the do-everything daily), since they were they only new five-seat cars that came in manual and could average over 30 MPG combined. Everything else we were looking at was electric - and if we lived in a house with solar instead of an apartment without, we almost certainly would have gone EV (2-3x horsepower/torque gain, eliminated fuel costs, reduced maintenance/complexity, AWD without the high drivetrain losses, etc).
