Toyota 86 uneven door panels

Hi all!

A week ago I bought my Toyota GT86 Facelift from 2016.
I knew that the passenger door was damaged and repaired by a professional.
When looking at the car I compared the door to the surroundings and drivers side door and didn‘t notice any major difference.
Now I notice more and more, that the door panels are a little uneven on both sides. You can see it in this Video:

I wonder if this is manufacturing related or if the car was damaged more then I was being told it was.
It would be great if you could tell me whether or not you have the same „Problem“ on you car.

Thanks and greetings from Germany,
Jan

It looks fine. If anybody starts comparing your two door panels that closely just tell them to go away.

I think the most important thing someone ever told me that works at a Subaru dealership is "panels will never be aligned perfectly once you take something off" and after witnessing this on my pre-owned GT86 (which had the front bumber and the hood repainted) i sleep very soundly at night.

Thanks already for your replies! I will definitely tell this person to go away haha.

I don‘t have any problem with the panel lines. They‘re bit off but i don‘t mind. What I was talking about are the body panels themselves. If you look at the reflections on the doors, you can see how they warp while moving along... another guy told me he has the same occuring on his car and when removing the door card he saw a support beam welded onto the door. That might be the cause...

Yeah i can see it in the video but you can barely make it out. Was the door panel bent? Might've been repaired with PDR and they couldn't make it perfectly straight...

That‘s what I was wondering. The passenger side was bent, but the dealer didn‘t say anything about the drivers side door. Now either both sides were damaged, or it‘s just normal for this car.

Looks pretty much normal. It is a long door made out of thin metal so a bit of play is expected. If you have to get a certain light and angle to see it then it is as good as it gets.

There ain't nothing wrong with your car, just drive it.
