In preparation for the FMIC intercooler piping, I made a smaller reservoir. This is necessary. The crash bar should add more clearance, but the reservoir had to go. It is huge. More pictures in My Build.

It is just aluminum bent and hammered with a rubber mallet in a vice to shape. I drilled some holes in the ends and cleaned up the edges. Nothing fancy.

Few more pics with and without the crash beam. I’ll add another when I get the new Drift Armor crash beam.

Just a mock up of the FMIC, but not in any way is it in a final position. Just more showing the size.

Picked up the engine today. Getting more serious boys! Pulled the spark plugs. Looks clean. I haven’t pulled the valve cover off, but it looks clean inside.

I can't wait for the results on this! I sold my 2jz BRZ but I kind of want a k swapped one. I just know it will not cost much less so I probably won't do another, but K turbo swapped something would be cool. Maybe an e30? O.o

Ok, I need to point out something that has probably been glossed over here. Now, doing all the work himself is impressive enough, but what I find crazy about this is Irace is doing it all in a 1 car garage that seems to double as his fitness room...

I little more progress stripping the motor. Everything looks clean. I removed the top, oil pan and timing cover in preparation for installing the oil pump and 50 degree VTC when I eventually get those items.
I may clean and paint the longblock and then do a wrinkle coating for the valve cover. Either red or black for the cover. Either silver or grey for the longblock. I need to weld on a bung for the breather that will go to a catch can, but I want to see what Kpower comes up with for a solution to the rear of the engine.

I concur. Such a cool build; thanks for logging all this. Do you have any videos shot with a walk around or anything?

I might make something when the engine is fully mounted with everything test fitted before installing, so people can see my routing and configuration for my lines. I’m terrible at contributing to YouTube.
