Your JDM exhaust tips look way inside the bumper compared to mine.

Mine is an imported car from Japan, year 2017. The exhaust tips on my car are more outside the bumper.

Maybe the rear muffler is different.

Since I've switched to the stock exhaust with the UEL Borla headers it missed a little bit of engine noise. I've tried again the Injen SRI... I had it on my first FR-S and it was terrible, lost of low end power and hard bucking below 2000RPM (lot of intake have this problem and is documented somewhere on the forum)

They revised the system, now the air filter is sealed with the bumper OEM air suction tube so no more MAF turbulance ! It sounds great and I did not had any power loss in low RPM, in fact It gave me some hp in the high revs. Even better, the A/F is pretty similar to what I had !

An other little mod, Invidia resonated FP

While I had nothing to do I've checked all my virtual dyno runs and from what I seen, when I had a catless front pipe It gave my car a little bit more hp in high rev. On the down side, it didn't have this nice flat line at redline.

Since I'm now running the factory catback and an UEL headers, I had some play in the loudness of the exhaust. The UEL sound is now pretty evident but still on the quiet side. So I'm now at 167whp with nice gain all around.

*All the runs are corrected and done at the same road section.

Thats a nice!

So a back box is next on the cards?

I played a bit with some combinations of the front pipe and tried the HKS dual resonated FP. While it was a good upgrade the downside was the added smelly exhaust fumes. I couldn't deal with that.

So I got a cat from an STI welded in lieu of the first resonator and the smell went away. The power high up in the revs has remained the same it seems. Since I already have a catless EL exhaust manifold I was also concerned about rasp and drone.

But the rest of the exhaust being stock and with the modded HKS FP plus the catless EL, I am surprised the car is so quiet.

Police officer here are trained to check if the muffler have baffle inside. They check them with a small metal wire. If they don't have any, they will give you a ticket (350$ CAD). My "trick" here was to replace the headers with the UEL Borla one and replace the front pipe with a catless one. The car is smelly lol, but it have a just enough sound.

What kind of cat did you use for your front pipe ? From an STi BRZ ?

I used a cat from a WRX STI, I think it was a year 2020 car.

Really could not deal with the smell and the cat tamed the sound a bit.

There was a tiny amount of rasp from the dual resonated FP but after adding the cat then it disappeared.

Yours cops are not friendly. Lol!
