Swift Springs: Cut OEM Bump Stops?
Hi,
I'm getting my Swift BRZ springs installed next week and am wondering if I should cut 1/3 off the stock bumpstops? I've read conflicting instructions on this forum. Evasive said it wasn't necessary in one thread, but then there was another build thread where a member cut them. I'm curious what everyone's opinion is? Want to do it right the first time. Thank you!

Doesn't the kit include shorter bump stops? The eibach kits do.....if they didn't think it was necessary to have shorter ones they wouldn't have bothered including them. I'd say cut your oem ones a little, no more than 1/3rd.

Thanks Fizz, no, the Swift kit does not include them like the Eibach does. Which is why I'm somewhat confused as to what to do. I think I will probably cut them, can't see how it would cause any harm. Thank you for the advice.

You dont need to but you will hit the bump stop alot quicker in a hard corner. I suggest you just cut it half way and allow for more travel. Thats basically what the bumpstops do.
