So the dealership I work at is open. We are located in a retirement heavy/senior populated area. Virus hasn't really slowed down business...usually have around 40 cars in per day, had 16 on Monday, 24 on Tuesday and 36 yesterday show up. Most wait in the waiting room...I think old people just don't give a crap, lol.

Was funny yesterday, guy in the waiting room was drinking a Coke and started coughing after sucking some down his windpipe...everyone else got up and went outside...LOL

I've read somewhere that the virus doesn't like temperature over a certain range - Florida may fall into this category, so you're stuck with sun dried orange oldies..

I went to the store this morning. From 7 to 9 is shopping time for high risk people only. Just about everything was available except chicken, flour, sugar, and all paper products.

We still have no cases in our county, and 11 state wide.

News last night said gun shops are running out of ammo.

I read that age specific hours were happening here and thought that would be a good time to avoid the store since who knows what else that high risk group might be bringing with them? So I went last night and found the few things needed like fresh produce, nuts and chips. Didn't walk the paper products aisle, though. Only one person wearing a mask but it was a serious device.

I went to the store to buy ammo so I could have fun at the range. All of it was sold out. It really irks me how people are panic buying the most trivial shit due to a virus. I can't even order any online because it's all sold out.

The flu and Covid are not the same thing. The flu is actually much more dangerous but since people are used to that they just don't panic. It is "just the flu" even though it kills tens of thousands in the US alone every year.

The flu numbers make the Covid stats look like a nice sunny summer day!

Hell the US numbers from last year dwarf the rates in even the worst affected Covid countries (so far)

"CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 2018–2019 season included an estimated 35.5 million people getting sick with influenza, 16.5 million people going to a health care provider for their illness, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths from influenza (Table 1). The number of influenza-associated illnesses that occurred last season was similar to the estimated number of influenza-associated illnesses during the 2012–2013 influenza season when an estimated 34 million people had symptomatic influenza illness6"

Good to hear parts and service are doing well and the regional parts distribution centers are all open. The sales side is another story. Daily sales reports are far below plan nationwide in almost all series. It was prolly before your time, but can you imagine if Toyota was still selling the Corona?
