So what was the end result of this? Did OP's car make it out alright?

Somebody shoulda suggested by now that he just buy a tune from openflash instead of risking damage to his engine.

It was 85 octane. Buying a tune to deal with a part tank of e85 is pretty extreme especially when there are only 4 stations in the whole state that sell it. Besides it would all be burnet up before he ever received the tune.

There was only a tiny risk involved anyway.
