Make sure you drive a Supra beforehand I would do the SC, way more economical. But it’s more a personal choice.

Test drive a supra, find out for yourself. I'd personally buy a next gen 86 and be a part of that movement just as it starts. Seeing as were beyond the next gen "rumors" phase and it's looking pretty confirmed.

But yeah, I drive a supercharged 86, nothing wrong with that either. Sorry to be so unhelpful in swaying you towards one thing or the other, but take the time to find out what feels best to you. Go for some test drives.

Don't limit yourself to the supra. If automatic is an option and you just want power, there are far more options!

E46 m3 is potent and balanced, also priced well now

When the car is modified, either you will be servicing it or.you will have a trusted shop to go. Stock car is much easier to service. Of course, supercharging the car will void most of the warranty if there is any left. It can turn out to be much more expensive than the cost of supercharging kit down the road. But modifying the car is a hobby (or pain?) that you cannot enjoy with a stock car.

If you just want to enjoy driving a sports car faster than your twin, go with Supra 2.0.

There is not one single fact "confirmed" about the next gen. Even the basic fact that it will go to production is far from "confirmed".

Even if we want to accept that there is even one thread of truth then the new engine is supposed to put out a whole 217 HP! Not exactly Supra nor even supercharged 86 territory.

I know I could get more value for my money but Supra and 86 have my heart. I had a 330 so I know that engine is amazing but supercharging seem to be more economical. Just not to sure on how reliable it will be.

Don't go crazy with a tune, buy quality and properly maintain it and a supercharged 86 will be pretty much reliable as a stock one.
People throw a cheap ass turbo on, have no clue what they are doing and tune it to a razor edge to get that one extra horsepower out of it (so they can say they have more when parked in a lot someplace) and when it blows up they blame everything but them self for the issues.

I have installed the JRSC more than 3 years and 30k miles ago. The car was only down for a week for replacing the valve springs once. It was a very expensive fix out of warranty that almost doubled the cost of modification.
Regarding reliability, the engine never failed to start or stopped on the road. It is so much fun to drive and about the same power to weight ratio of base Cayman (9.3).

I can't say you will be fine. But if you know what you do and what you are getting into, it is fun. I have no regrets.
