The number in the setting is directly tied to the nit output, so at most it's 500nit.

Problem is that for some stupid reason the HDR for RDR only has a 100nit range from white to black.

Laymans:
Blacks should always be 0.
At 100 the blacks are at 0 level.
101 blacks at 1.
500 blacks are at 400.

Already considering stepping up from my gtx970 to something else after seeing the Dirt Rally 2 announcement lol

I like consoles that are portable, so I have a 3DS and a Switch.

The switch comes with me on all of my works trips and there are some amazing games out for it.

Another bonus to a good PC is being able to emulate almost any of the older consoles. I grew up with basically no video games so it's great to be able to play the classics.

I hope my 1080 lasts me for a few more years... the latest generation of nvidia cards is stupid expensive.

Well, a good orthopedic surgeon with a MRI can tell you better if it is a tear that can heal with non surgical treatment, or if you are just going to waste a year or more of your life limping around. Without it, doctor is just guessing, at your expense.

Maybe I can help, by giving you a frame of reference.

My Friday afternoon/evening. Picked up the two older granddaughters from their school. They argued most of the way home. Arrived home, tried to kick back in my recliner to nap - the toddler kept waking me up for various reasons. OK, I got up and changed her poopie diaper.

Ma-ma orders carry out. YES, my chance to escape for a few minutes by myself in my FR-S to pick it up. Nooo - oldest granddaughter wants to go along - what could I say - OK. Then, the toddler wants to go along, again, what could I say - however, that means we drive the family sedan that has the baby seat already installed.

Arrive at the pizza place, pulled right up in front (in a strip mall). Told the girls to sit tight, I'll lock them in the car and be right back. The toddler pitched a bitch because she wanted to come in. The 12 year old got all scared, which further upset the toddler, thinking someone would break into the car and harm them.

Well, of course the order wasn't ready, which further intensified the situation. Got home, ahhh yes, time to eat my sandwich and watch the news. Yep, I watched it but couldn't hear much of it because of the chattering baby-girls-woman.

OK, I now get a choice, clean up the kitchen or give the toddler a bath. I chose the latter. So, I ran the water with lots of bubble bath, put her in the bath tub and she proceeded to soak me by squirting me with all her rubber ducky things in the bathtub.

Ma-ma to the rescue. I dried off and now I'm here, peacefully communicating with you folks.

So, the next Friday evening you and @spike021 get bored, come on up and join our party -

Lol, that's just a regular Tues...nah, that's been EVERYDAY of my life for the past 4 years with no end in sight.

At least the kids are in bed by 8. A quick Netflix show with the wife (currently the new Sabrina...her choice, not mine, meh at the most once I got over the fact the chick in it used to be the little daughter in madmen) then bed...then do it all over when the kids wake up at 6am

On Fri nights, I usually sneak off to the garage to work on the car or any projects until around midnight but not for a while with this stupid leg...
