Even with these 2nd gen specific offsets I am still pretty sure you need coilovers and a spacer up front to clear the fender liners at full lock. I guess a spacer up front is less intrusive than trimming / cutting the rear.

You needed coilovers for the big boy fitments on the 1st gen as well. So I don't really see that as a big deal.

My '23 isn't supposed to be here for a few more months and I'm getting ready to order coilovers, rear toe links, and RLCAs.

Yup, I put a preorder on 17x9 et47 T-S5 two months ago already.

I would have pre-ordered the 18s already (it's going to be mostly a street car and I think 18s look better), but FTspeed won't give me a straight answer on what tires and sizes they test fitted with that fitment.

So I'm going to wait and see what people actually can fit in the rear before I order these, or do a custom set of something else close to that size/fitment.

Weds Wheels North America is coming out with a new TC105X wheel that has a track focused offset for our beloved GR86/BRZ cars. This new wheel will be in the 17x9 5x100 size. I do not have the liberty to state the offset as Weds does not want to share info with other wheel manufacturers, but according to Weds it is a "perfect" square setup utilizing many popular 245-255 extreme summer/competition tires. "Perfect" as right in the center of the wheel well where it can maximize suspension travel & minimize lap times. According to Weds Japan's track testing, their current 17x9 +35 5x100 is not the optimal size for the ZN8/ZD8 chassis.
Thing I don't get in this rumor/claim is, Weds claims it'll be track focused offset and it is a "perfect" square setup. Yea, it might be "perfect" square tire setup, but def not offset, if they want to focus on the track oriented wheels. Also missing a lot of info. Stating 245/255 extreme summer/competition tires...? Which competition? If it's Japanese 86/BRZ race, they've 2 main groups: Gazoo 86/BRZ or Super Taikyu race. Gazoo doesn't allow 17x9 wheels (they run 17x7.5+44 or 16x7+48). Maybe Super Taikyu? iirc Weds were in ST4 class using TC105X (17x7.5 or 17x9) If you're talking about Nur 24hrs they were running 18's.

I'll just sit back and eat popcorns until Weds officially announce it. Prob down the road, they'll prob massive produce them to meet the demands anyways. I, myself had TC105N and enjoyed it.

Rumor or claim?
Ok, if that's what you think this post is, then you probably haven't called Weds North America to verify...

I get that people are skeptical & all, but to be labeled as making false claims or starting rumors is not my style. I like the TC105X wheels & just spreading the information. I don't know every single detail about which tires or whatever racing series as I am not Weds NA & am just a customer/ enthusiast.

I bought the set of wheels that I want for my GR86 that hasn't arrived yet & although personally feel that is kind of foolish, its a risk I'm willing to take. This new set of TC105X's is less than $2 grand & not too expensive for me, but if Weds NA doesn't deliver their wheels as promised I can still easily get all of my funds back. That's a huge if though & I highly doubt a company such as WedsSports will fall short & not deliver...

As for only having 10 sets, like I said call Weds NA & verify as to the reasons why. GR86's are not going to be around forever. Aren't they only being made in Europe for 2 years? If you think 2nd Gen will be around over a decade like the 1st Gen & that may not be the case as gasoline sports cars are a dying breed.

Bottom line is that I'm getting one of the sets & if you miss out on the other 9 then that's your lack of action not mine. As the saying goes "don't shoot me, im just the messenger" haha!

No, what I’m saying is, there’s no clear definition of what specific “track” focus. Track focus w what setup? W stock suspension? Coils? W what tires? W what performance upgrade? If they said, this was track tested & developed by Wed’s Taikyu 86, then we can expect what suspension & power upgrade the wheels was developed for.

Maybe they will tell us these info, when they announce it. Maybe not. Either way, time will tell.

Im not sure about Europes laws as far as restricting sales, but production is definitely going to last more than 2 years.

Sorry I meant SOLD in Europe for only 2 years.
Something about the ZD8/ZN8 chassis not meeting safety regulations over there:

For an order of "only 10 wheels," its not an outlandish possibility that this is a custom speedfreaksusa.com order that are simply a redrill to 5x100 (e.g. when you want a non-standard color, the manufacturer usually only sells them at a minimum order size of 10 sets).
Hope it’s not a casting.

The TC105X is a cast wheel. The far less common “TC105X Forged” is forged and has a much more limited range of sizes.

I guess they are testing em out. From the look of it, offset is def not +35. It’s between 38~45?

Finally got my TC105X's mounted onto my car. Took forever for my GR86 to arrive. Then I got the wheels ceramic coated also so took a while. Car still needs a drop & alignment, but the wheels look great!
