I like the idea of that place on 125...I think a weekend is best to do it. Probably easiest.

Header and tune....I am curious how big a difference it makes in the power band and how the car runs. That open flash tablet with a header looks like it tweaks those little things and makes the car even funner.

My shop says I'll be looking at anywhere from 18-25 WHP gains based on their previous installs/tunes.

Wow, that is a decent amount of power gains to the wheels for not having to do much. What shop are you going too?

i'm sorry do yourself a favor and look up reviews and history of that shop. its not a very reputable shop for tuning. they make numbers look better then what they really are. personally if you want honest numbers and great work check out granite state dyno and tune. they are in hudson nh.

Really? I've heard the exact opposite from 3 pro track bike racers I know...

I may have to shop around before supercharging depending on how things go then

EDIT: Yeh... not sure about your source... I just found 2 threads about them on BMW and WRX tuner forums with exclusively positive reviews over 10+ pages each. Posts as recent as July 25th...

when bad stuff was posted on facebook it didn't go so well they try to delete and cover stuff up. either way i'd look into going to gsd as they have a dyno jet there. maybe it was just the mazdaspeed guys but like i've heard before i'd stay away. thats just my personal opinion.

I took a solo run this past wednesday. I went completely batshit and pushed the car hard, hitting 102mph on one of the straights. I know I know, dangerous and stupid, but its been a shit month and I needed it. I wanted to see what the car was fully capable, and this told me that it was EXACTLY what the car was built for.

Given the slight understeer, I will be pursuing sway bars first. I already have 225 width sticky tires, and they help.

God I love this fucking car. #SorryNotSorry

Bren is actually a damned good tuner. GSD isn't bad, but they aren't great with Subarus. Stay the hell away from Kinetic.

Bren tunes are for longevity, and yeah the dyno shows lower numbers, but who cares? I know several autocrossers with STIs that swear by him, and their cars have reached over 100k miles without issue.

Bren is a good tuner and a good guy. That said, I have Matt Miner do my Subaru tuning. I was really hoping he'd pickup the 86 platform but it wasn't something that interested him unfortunately.

hp/tq is only relevant if you have a baseline of YOUR car on THAT dyno. It shows an improvement, not an absolute.

You got that right! I was driving spiritedly myself up on the Kanc and I can't wait to do it one day without winter tires with some real grip! I even had some one see me coming and pull over to let me pass.
