Someone thought to think what Scar from Lion King was named Scar before the whole wildebeests incident. Apparently in the Lion King novels, he was named Taka? Which is Swahili for trash.

TIL: Lewis Wilson's Batman (OG Screen version) fought like a drunken sailor with dance skills and sometimes got the crap beat out of him but usually won anyway.

Especially if it isn't waterproof (sweat washes it away faster) and you're not reapplying. Even with a sun hat and care I've had mild burn on my face with waterproof spf50 gel (gel because it has to go on my head and creams are way too gross with whisps of hair). I always wear the hat and spf rated long sleeves.

TIL (again) why the steps leading off my 10' high deck, have hand rails. The porch light doesn't light up the last 1-3 steps. It's sems like a looong way down when you think you are stepping off the last step - and it's actually the third step.

My combat roll didn't help me - I just slammed down sideways on the hard ground.

I took a few readings, put my glasses back on and took the lit cigarette out of my mouth.

Laying on my back, I remembered the old saying that, when you get older "don't sit down on the floor (ground) unless you got a plan for getting up".

So, I wiggled over on my back till I got to a slope in the yard and "rolled - up" on my hands and knees, then staggered upright.

Other than my rib cage hurting every time I take a deep breath and a skinned-up arm, I think I'll survive.

I think I'm ah gonna put a child proof gate in front of those stairs, as a reminder to pay attention to what I'm doing -

To me it reads like a couple of inexpensive battery powered LED lights would come in handy.

Is this via a union walkout or rouge? The UK rail union has this guy at the top, he is fanastic!! I'm not a railworker but would join their union because of him..

The list of things 'not to do' seems to be getting longer:

1. No reversing out of parking slots
2. No more showing off your 'Fall guy' skills when trying to impress the neighbours..
3. Ramps are better than stairs.

Get well soon.

Or as I see it, more crap to trip over. May as well add dangerous to that mix too.

I agree w/ snooze. Sounds like a few cheap LED lights would do the trick.

Good idea -

At one time, about 30 years ago, I had lights on the steps hard wired into the deck lights. However, the racoons decided the lights and wiring were toys to be chewed on and played with. -
