When all the accepted authorities' and dictionaries change the definition I will accept it. At this point they have not.
Age alone still does not mean "classic" and trying to force it to is not the evolution of language it is personal opinion.

This is a very interesting thread. I'm surprised that most FRSs are AT, and wonder why BRZ buyers would be so different. Consider the nightmare scenario when the government won't let us have gasoline anymore It has already created a command economy to force us into electrics.

I read somewhere that a guy converted a 308 Ferrari to all electric. Hideous!

Not sure where the numbers of MT vs AT are coming from but I have zero doubt that they are not right. The MT take on these cars will be much higher than the AT no matter if FRS, BRZ or 86 and they would all be about the same mix. I think people are pulling these ratios out of their ass.
If anybody can put an actual document showing the FRS had more ATs I would love to see it. Blogs, clickbait sites and other forum posts do not count.

Nightmare scenario? Somebody's modded Ferrari 308 is hideous because of the powertrain? These are weird things to say.

Personally, I wish I could ride a horse and buggy on the freeway.

The actual way ICE cars are going to go away is that they will first be banned in city centers (they already have been in many countries). Then in cities entirely. Gas stations will close down thanks to low business. Oil subsidies will fall off, so gasoline prices will rise. The government might also start adding in the environmental costs of gasoline to the cost of a gallon, which would easily double the price. It will be more convenient to get an EV on so many more levels.

But then there will be people who want ICE at any cost, just like there are people who love having horses at any cost. Ferriers and mechanics will still exist, but they'll be fewer and farther between.

Not so much a nightmare as progress.

Also lots of people will drop EV parts into older cars.

This is trolling?

I'm just on a war against pedantry, I guess.

"That's not an assault rifle! It's single fire." "Yeah, but the vast majority of people call it an assault rifle, so the word sticks at least as well as your narrower usage."

"That's not a sports car. That's a GT!" "Yeah, well, the vast majority of people would call it a sports car, so the word sticks at least as well as your narrower usage."

I'm not putting that all on Tcoat. I'm just saying it's a classic now. It's like how anything that gets old enough becomes an archaeological artifact, even your discarded chicken bones.
OK, @EAGLE5, how would you classify this car?

@Tcoat - how about you?

Numbers come from here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aut...smission-take/

More WRX bros buying BRZs with manuals, and more people buying the Toyota because they wanted something with 2 doors in the Toyota showroom?

Thanks. That is for one model year though so can not really be conclusive for the cars across the board.
The big seller for the BRZ in 2018 were the PP Limited and the TSs and I believe you could only get those in MT so it sort of skews the numbers.

Is there anything fine or distinctive about it?

Model A? It's a classic car. I'm pretty sure that's what a neighbor of mine has. In black.

Black ones aren't worth much. Was a pretty common colour.

So there, big guy, is the Ford Model A a "classic" car or a "vintage" car or both?

Nope. Therefore I would just call it a "vintage" car -
