I'd be willing to, but the batteries are quite heavy, so it may be fairly costly.

If only you were closer, I would be happy to pick up...

Also, if by a very small chance you still have this when May arrives (as I plan on taking a vacation down there), I'll swing by and take it off your hands.

Anyways, good luck with sale! Hopefully, someone goes through with buying it.

I calculated an estimated cost, it would cost me around 780$ for the import taxes only. Without the batteries I would buy it without even thinking about it. With the batteries it's too expensive due to the importtax.

Thumbs up

Bump to support your thread.

I would buy it, but I probably won't have the money until I'm through the waiting list anyway

Darnit.. I would buy this in a heartbeat, but just need a lot more persuasion. Spent 6k on the car already and trying to take 6 months off to replenish savings and finish paying off the car.

OP, can you give us your impression of the ESC? Is it really that noticable over stock? Or just a 'hey that's nice, i can feel it' sort of benefit?

Maybe you can convince me to pull the trigger

I really liked my first one(ESC). But i got rid of my car. Now (post baby) I am back in a BRZ. So i hate to say it, but as long as Lord09 accepts my offer and payment I believe I will be back in the ESC family. It should go well with my ACE header/FP.

But in case Lord09 says no, then i guess this is just another bump for the thread.

Hi Carson.

Maybe I can. I am very satisfied with this purchase. It's the best I've made for my car. With that being said...

First, you should definitely make the most fiscally responsible decision. I'm sure you will.

Now, with that being said... The way the Phantom kit puts down the torque is exactly what this car needs. You have to spend a lot more money to get the kind of dramatic change in torque output characteristics that the Phantom ESC offers.

I posted this in another thread, but I'll repost here. This is the Phantom ESC vs many other setups, same dyno, same day (including SBD Turbos, JC Turbo, and many NA setups with header/exhaust/tune). Strong max WHP/TQ improvements, but what's really important is "area under the curve". What's going on under the output maximums? Is the power a momentary peak or a sustained plateau? I'd say, under 100 MPH low RPM torque is king. Over 100 is another story, but we shouldn't be doing that on the street anyhow.
- Baseline a completely stock 86 dynos roughly 135-140 lb.ft TQ at 4800 RPM with that nasty torque dip.

- My car dyno'd 207 lb.ft TQ @ 3370 RPM with a v2.0 kit on e85 with full exhaust and OFT tune. Same kit as the OP.

- BRZ-Y posted 183 lb.ft TQ @ 3380 RPM with unknown CBE and stock exhaust on a Phantom v1.0 kit (the original kit (no longer sold) on CA 91 pump gas.
Moral of the story is the Phantom kit annihilates the torque dip and puts out more torque down low and in the mid range with only 4-5psi than just about any other 7psi F.I. option.

My dyno from the day, 3 passes, consistent as hell.

The numbers

Details of all car setups, tons of dyno sheets, and pictures are in this thread. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=93180&page=5
